DONATE A BIKE!

We accept everything bike related (please no joggers, scooters,  or other damaged items). We in-turn, fix up your donations and get them back into our community.

No need to contact us for a donation, just drop it off anytime during our Bike Shop open hours. Any questions, email our shop here.

PLEASE CLEAN off any donations prior to dropping them off by wiping them down with soap & water. This allows us more time to get more bikes back into the community!

BIKE2LEADERSHIP

Developing community leaders through mentoring – using a bicycle as the vehicle for change.

Vancouver youth now have the opportunity to gain valuable life/work skills and obtain a CPR / First Aid certification while also learning about basic bicycle mechanics and having fun! Vancouver high school kids will also be awarded the title of “Community Bicycle Leader” and will have the opportunity to help our community by volunteering in the Bike Clark County shop, repairing bikes for kids, and teaching children how to ride responsibly.

Workshop Aims and Outcomes

By the end of an eight-week workshop, the youth will gain employable skills that will help them work within our community. Learning outcomes will fall into eight blocks of content mastery:

  • Bicycle maintenance and safety
  • Health: CPR (certification), First Aid (certification), self-regulation and healthy coping, health and fitness, substance abuse prevention
  • Community outreach
  • Teaching and mentoring
  • Employability – interview skills, resume building, presentation, self-confidence
  • Advocacy for change – how local government works

It is Bike Clark County’s goal to create the future bike leaders of Clark County.

This program is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente in partnership with Bike Clark County, Clark County Public Health, and Vancouver School District. Program is run by Preston Antisdel and Aaron Gibson.
